Night vision goggles allow you to view things at night. They have opened up a world that never existed before. In earlier times it was near to impossible to see things in pitch darkness. However many countries allow their use to the common public as well. These are handy when you don t have a torch or candles in case of sudden darkness. Just put on the goggles and you will be able to see in pitch darkness too. So how then do they work? These goggles work on theory of photoelectric effect. Making use of infrared light which is invisible to the naked eye, it uses photons and electrons to create and electric field in which you can view in the dark very clearly. These have become very popular with birdwatchers and wildlife researchers lately. Many of the facts that we know about wildlife can be owed to the night vision goggles. At any time during game play, simply type the following codes to receive their respective effects:

IDFA – this code grants you all of the weapons available in the game including a full stock of ammunition.

IDKFA – with this code you will receive all of the weapons available in the game, a full stock of ammunition, plus all of the keys for the current level.

IDBEHOLDS – grants you the “berserk” power-up. Just as good as therapy.

IDCLEVXX – this code will allow you to warp to a level of your choosing. XX represents a number that you must enter. (e.g. – if you want to warp to level 20, you would type IDCLEV20).

IDCLEV31 – this code will warp you to a secret level (level 31), which cannot ordinarily be played following the standard sequence of the game.

IDCLEV32 - Warps you to the secret Wolfenstein level. Enjoy yourself by blowing away Nazis.

IDDT – allows you to see the entire map of the current level.

IDDQD – God mode. You are invincible.

IDBEHOLDI – Invisibility. Simply walk by your enemies, or better yet, sneak up and put a chain saw in their face.

FHSHH – Partial Invisibility. You will remain invisible until you attack. Be like the Ninja, let none hear your sword fall.

IDBEHOLDV – Invulnerability. This code possesses the same effect as the invulnerability power-up.

IDBEHOLDL – Allows you to see in the dark. This is the same effect as the goggles/night-vision power-up.

IDCLIP – Clipping mode. Walk through walls! Impress your friends!

IDBEHOLDR – Immunity to poison. The same effect as the radiation suit power-up.

IDCHOPPERS – Gives you the chainsaw.

Remember: always stretch before long sessions of Doom. You never know when you might throw yourself off a chair because you didn’t see that rocket racing toward your head.

Armies use various night vision devices such as goggles, helmets, sniper scopes etc. to attack their enemy under cover of darkness. Along with being a use for security purposes, these devices are of a high use in various other fields. These goggles are used by fishermen for fishing during the night time. Surveillance cameras are also popular for the usage of night vision. Police often use both Image enhancement and thermal imaging technology for surveillance. Wildlife observers and nature enthusiasts also highly use these devices to maneuver through the woods during the night time with an objective to observe the nocturnal activities of wildlife. Several detectives and private investigators use these devices for tracking people they need to keep an eye on. Large business companies have permanently-mounted cameras equipped with night vision to continuously monitor the surroundings. Thermal imaging technology used in such devices has a spectacular ability of detecting areas on the ground. This technology can tell if the ground has been dug to bury something even if the area looks undisturbed. These devices can contribute to criminal cases. Law enforcement uses these devices to reveal money, drugs, dead bodies etc. hidden by criminals. Such devices find applications also in the field of entertainment. Therefore, these devices find applications in variety of fields these days and not only in military and security forces like the past.
