Binoculars Night Vision

Binoculars are devices that consist of two telescopes. These telescopes are mounted together to make far off objects appear closer. Night vision binoculars are the night vision systems that make far off objects appear nearer in complete darkness. The night vision binoculars amplify light from a source and produce a green coloured image that can be viewed in darkness.

Types of night vision binoculars:

1.    Night vision binoculars with wide objective lens and multi coated optics which gather light and let a person see in the dark effectively.
2.    Night vision binoculars with wide objective lens, multi coated optics and built in illuminators which enhance vision in complete darkness.
3.    Night vision binoculars with thermal imaging which have the best light gathering capability. These are the most expensive.
4.    Night vision digital binoculars which are generally used for outdoor expeditions.

Working of night vision binoculars:

The night vision binoculars collect light from the objective lens. The light is then focussed onto the image intensifier. The image intensifier converts photons to electrons. The electrons then strike a phosphorous screen which converts the electrons into an image, generally of green colour which can be easily viewed in the dark.

The night vision binoculars are available in several different styles. Night vision binoculars that look like cameras can work like hand held devices. The ones which resemble goggles can be mounted over the helmet or worn over the head.

The companies that produce night vision binoculars are Steiner, Bushnell, ATN and Nikon. The cost of night vision binoculars varies from company to company and is also determined by the variant and type of the night vision binoculars to be bought.

The performance of night vision binoculars depends upon the light available. If there is dim light, the night vision binoculars required will have to be more powerful and their performance will be low. If there is sufficient light, the night vision binoculars will perform better.

Night vision binoculars cost less as compared to any other night vision system available in the market. The image quality of the night vision binoculars is good and the viewer can view the object being observed clearly.
